Glen Park & Swinging Bridge 

Glenn Park is a local park with playgrounds, picnic areas, and pickleball courts. 

The Swinging Bridge, located in Glen Park is an historic architectural feature that crosses the Kinnikinnic River. It's easily accessible scenic bridge and a beautiful area for pictures.

Kinnickinnic State Park

Kinni State Park offers a variety of recreation opportunities such as: Boating, Canoeing, & Kayaking, Fishing, Hiking, Hunting & Trapping, Mountain Biking, Picnicking, Swimming, and even winter activities (cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, etc).

Historic Movie Theatre

Catch a movie at the Falls Theatre. River Falls is home to the this iconic, independent, local theatre. Built in 1927, this historic movie house has been owned and operated by the same family since 1972. They feature budget-friendly showings of first-run movies and of course, butter topped popcorn!

Family Friendly Farms!

Eagle Eye Farm - Eagle Eye Farm is a small, family-run farm in River Falls. We raise award-winning alpacas, llamas, Kune Kune pigs, mini-Highland cattle, mini-Shetland ponies, Valais Blacknose sheep, Babydoll sheep, and an eclectic mix of chickens.

We have a small farm store - All Things Sheared - where we sell alpaca goods - hats, scarves, mittens, sweaters, rugs, pillows, blankets, trivets, dryer balls, insoles, felted sheep's milk soap, honey, and eggs.

River Falls offers a range of wellness experiences. Glenn Park Pool & Splash Pad

Glenn Park Pool and Splash Pad is a great way for the whole family to cool off during those hot summer days. It's open early June to late August from 6:15am - 8:15pm and offers open swim times, water aerobics, wading pool, diving board, water slide, and is even available for private pool parties!

River Falls Days (July)

River Falls Days is the city’s signature summer celebration, held each July in Heritage Park. This multi-day festival features a lively parade, live music, food trucks, a beer garden, family-friendly games, and fireworks to close out the weekend. With activities for all ages and a strong sense of community spirit, it’s a great way for guests to experience the heart and energy of River Falls.

Art on the Kinni – River Falls’ signature outdoor art festival held each September. With over 80 artists, live music, food vendors, and a children’s art tent, it’s a celebration of creativity and community—perfect for guests enjoying a weekend stay in River Falls. 

Bacon Bash – River Falls September celebration of all things bacon—held annually in Heritage Park. Guests can indulge in creative bacon-inspired dishes, enjoy live music, browse artisan vendors, and take part in quirky pig-themed contests and activities.

River Dazzle (November)

River Dazzle is River Falls’ beloved kickoff to the holiday season, held annually the Friday after Thanksgiving. Downtown transforms into a wonderland with costumed carolers, a lighted parade, and the ever-popular Chili Crawl featuring local favorites. Families can enjoy free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, hop aboard the holiday trolley, and take in the warmth of a small-town celebration. It’s perfect for families and visitors spending time in River Falls, WI.

Fly Fishing on the Kinnickinnic River 

The Kinnickinnic River—affectionately known as “The Kinni”—is a treasured destination for fly fishing enthusiasts visiting River Falls. With its cold, spring-fed waters and thriving populations of wild brown and brook trout, the river offers a peaceful yet rewarding experience for anglers of all skill levels. Whether you’re casting dry flies in the upper stretches or exploring deeper pools near town, the Kinni’s natural beauty and quiet charm make it an unforgettable part of any countryside escape.

Staying Active 

River Falls can help you stay active and enjoy the outdoors. There's open play pickleball at Glen Park, or both 9 and 18-hole courses of disc golf at Hoffman and Sterling Ponds Parks. Ultimate Frisbee leagues welcome players of all experience levels during spring and fall seasons and of course with over 20 miles of hiking trails ranging from easy family-friendly loops to moderate forested routes the stunning views, wildflowers, and peaceful wooded stretches are a delightful way to enjoy the outdoors during any season.

Kayaking on the Kinni 

The Upper Kinni is the family friendly/beginner friendly portion- and geared for those wanting a casual paddling day with great wooded scenery. It offers some riffles to keep you paddling with some fun adventure and lots of casual water to relax enjoy the river scenery. This is about 2 hrs long. 

The Lower Kinni Gorge kayaking trip is geared for those looking for adventure! This has multiple class 1+ rapids with sharp bends thru a wilderness gorge. Eagles, Falcons, Blue Herons, occasional deer and schools of trout will be your companions as you wind thru the gorge. While it has stunning scenery it is NOT FOR BEGINNERS! This portion of the river is 3 - 3.5 hrs long

With 6 golf courses nearby you're sure to find one you'll love. Weather an issue? Not here! A few of our courses have simulators, so you can swing a club rain or shine.

Bluegrass - Burbon & Brews Festival: local pubs, wineries, and venues host live music in April

Vines and Ales

River Falls and its surrounding areas host multiple vineyards – Saint Croix Vineyard, Belle Ame Vineyard, Cracked Barrel Winery, and Forestville Winery are all great places to visit for a relaxing afternoon of wine tasting, scenic views, and local charm.

In addition to Vineyards, River Falls also has great Breweries: Visit Swinging Bridge Brewing Company, Rush River Brewing Company, or Hop and Barrel Brewing - all perfect for a post-rehearsal hangout.

Art and Culture

UW-River Falls hosts the Frances Cohler Coffee Concert Series which features performances by UWRF music faculty as well as guest artists from around the world. These concerts (free and open to the public) are held at noon on selected Fridays throughout the year. Check out other campus performances, lectures, and exhibits at the Kleinpell Fine Arts building.
